Blue Jay Angel

This piece was especially done for EMG-zine.com. December's subject was angels. I came up with the idea of maybe even doing a series of angels inspired from my favourite birds (all birds that we find in my region of course! ). I started with probably one of the most flamboyant birds that we have: the Blue Jay. Even though it's a very common bird, I just really love all the different shades of blues, whites and blacks we can find in it's feathers. I thought that doing an angel with Blue Jay wings would really give a nice effect.

This is my biggest watercolor painting I have ever done too. Even if the background is very simple, it still took me that whole week to finish this one. I was scared I wouldn't finish it on time too. *laughs*

I'm hoping there will be more in the future, but I have to finish a couple of other paintings before doing more for this series!
